When the Associazione Calcio Napoli was formed in 1926, they carried with them the city's emblem which was the horse, but after their first humiliating season the derisive people of the city assigned the team the emblem of the donkey. The team accepted it and took pride in displaying 'O Ciuccio, as it was called. This reflects well the spirit of the Neapolitan people, which can make fun out of the hardest of moments in life, and are always a happy bunch to be with.
